ABA Therapy
How ABA Works

One of the main underlying principles of ABA states that behavior is maintained by its consequence(s), so it is at this level where the most effective interventions should be focused. In order to positively influence behavior, we must understand the impact of the consequences which currently reinforce it, and then identify the environmental circumstances that will promote the desired change.
The LifeSpeed team facilitates behavior change by utilizing evidence-based techniques that have proven effective in the fields of psychology and education for over 50 years. Traditionally, ABA has been used when treating individuals living with Autism Spectrum Disorder or other developmental disabilities. However, the broader application of these universal principles of behavior has allowed Board Certified Behavior Analysts to expand ABA services to many other areas, and people, in need.

Early Intervention
Our model of care incorporates a blended approach of in-clinic and in-home sessions based on Dr. Greg Hanley’s Practical Functional Assessment and Skill-Based Treatment. In Hanley’s words, creating an environment in which a person is “happy, relaxed, and engaged” remains the primary goal of ABA; it is within this space of dignified care that LifeSpeed strives to operate.
Our team is committed to facilitating meaningful interactions for our early learners through a trusting therapeutic relationship. We believe that safety is paramount, and our BCBAs focus on building Treatment Plans that highlight skills which are essential for achieving early developmental milestones.
